Crowns

A crown is used to cover a tooth and restore to its normal shape and function. A crown can help strengthen when there isn’t enough tooth remaining to hold a large filling. A crown is a good way to cover teeth which are discolored or badly shaped. It is also used to cover a dental implant.

Bridges

A bridge is used to replace missing teeth. Unlike partials, a bridge is fixed and is permanently cemented into place.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth. They are an option for correcting stained, chipped, decayed or crooked teeth.

Dental Implants

A popular and effective way to replace missing teeth. Dental implants are made of titanium and other materials that are compatible with the human body. There are generally three phases to getting an implant. First, the dentist surgically placed the implant into the jawbone. Next, the bone around the implant heals in a process called osseointegration which means the implant has to combine and adapt to the bone. Osseointegration may take up to several months. Then it’s time for placement of the artificial teeth or tooth. For single tooth implants, your dentist will customize a new tooth for you called a dental crown. The crown is designed to blend with your other teeth.

If you are interested in dental implants, you must be evaluated to see if you are a good candidate based on your overall health. Chronic illness such as diabetes or leukemia may interfere with healing after surgery. Tobacco use can also slow healing.

Composite fillings are natural-looking fillings used to fill decayed teeth. They closely match the natural color of your teeth.

The causes of an infected pulp include: a deep cavity, a cracked or broken tooth, injury to the tooth.
